Béton Brut presents the Masur Edition by Isokon

Béton Brut presents the Masur Edition by Isokon, a new interpretation of four Marcel Breuer designs in rare masur birch veneer, launching during London Design Festival.

Marking the 90th anniversary of Breuer’s designs for Isokon, the collection revisits his experimental approach to veneer and challenges the association of these works solely with unfinished birch plywood. Historical examples were produced in timbers including sycamore, zebrano, mahogany and Australian walnut, reflecting the adaptability of plywood’s outer surface.

The Masur Edition applies this thinking to masur birch, a highly figured Northern European timber whose graphic surface brings a decorative quality to Breuer’s restrained Modernist forms. Handmade in small batches at Isokon’s East London workshop, the collection includes the Cut-Out Armchair, Cut-Out Chair, Isokon Nesting Tables and Isokon Dining Table.

Presented exclusively by Béton Brut, the edition will be shown alongside the gallery’s vintage furniture collection and new works by David Horan from 12–20 September 2026.
