Anish Kapoor

Anish Kapoor returns to the Hayward Gallery nearly 30 years after his first major UK survey at the institution, presenting an exhibition that occupies the building in its entirety.

The exhibition brings together works from several of Kapoor’s best-known series, including polished steel sculptures, Vantablack-coated forms, and spatial installations that play with reflection, depth, scale, and perception. Throughout the galleries, works extend across walls, floors, and ceilings to create a series of immersive encounters.

Recent paintings and sculptures are shown alongside newly commissioned installations, including two monumental works in Kapoor’s signature red. Together, the exhibition traces the artist’s ongoing exploration of material, illusion, and the physical experience of space.
