Walker Street Market is pleased to present "I Heard You Looking," an exhibition of new paintings by Mary Breneman and new ceramic works by Karlene Jean Kantner with floral installations by James McGrath.

"I Heard You Looking" explores the quiet reflection and relief nature offers us. Hudson Valley-based painter Mary Breneman interprets landscapes through form, color, and intuition. In conversation with her paintings, Berkshire-based ceramic artist, Karlene Jean Kantner draws on landscapes, seasonal transitions, and plant behavior, building each form slowly by hand. Within Kantner’s ceramics, Connecticut-based horticulturist James McGrath bridges the handmade with that made by the earth through floral installations, reinterpreting the landscape as if it had never been touched by human hands.

Together, the paintings, ceramics, and floral installations encourage us to take notice of the small moments where the natural world begs our attention and to find solace in nature, as we have always done.
