DISPLAY #1: SUPERMARKET

ITEM IDEM, the pseudonym of French artist and designer Cyril Duval, unfolds as both a play on words, a persona, and a place: a hybrid convenience store and cabinet of curiosities that merges exhibition space, workshop, library, and social platform. This new venue offers a catalogue of ephemeral and serial works, sitting at the crossroads of fine art and leisure.

For his DISPLAY #1: SUPERMARKET, Cyril Duval presents works by major figures of the Fluxus movement, such as Ben Vautier and George Maciunas, in an atmosphere inspired by Elaine Sturtevant, the pioneering artist of appropriation and substitution.

On this occasion, ITEM IDEM partners with Performa to reissue Barbara Kruger’s emblematic project Untitled (The Drop), a special re-edition of hoodies and T-shirts in limited series, now enriched with French and Arabic translations. The collection will be available starting October 20, both for direct purchase and online at ITEM IDEM Paris and on Performa’s website (Performa2025.org).
