Five Easy Pieces

Five Easy Pieces presents work by Rick Owens Furniture, curated by Owens’ partner and longtime collaborator Michèle Lamy. At Carpenters in Paris, five new editions of iconic functional artworks are shown alongside works from Owens and Lamy’s contemporary art collection. The exhibition continues their exploration of primal materiality and architectural form, with rusted steel and wood used to reflect ideas of resistance, nature, and time.

Its title references the 1970 film Five Easy Pieces, admired by Lamy for its themes of alienation and rejection of convention—an intentionally ironic choice for works that are among the duo’s most technically complex.
