The Brooklyn Heights Designer Showhouse opens to the public on October 2 with with an exciting new location and designer roster. One Monroe Place, a landmarked Greek-Italianate mansion dating from the 1850s, will be transformed by 19 designers including established names like Hallie Goodman, SFW, Brian Cash Works, and Paige Blodgett; alongside rising talent such as HH Studio, Max Aboody, and Llewellyn Chupin. The Brooklyn Heights Designer Showhouse is the borough's most prestigious design event and a biennial fundraiser supporting the Brooklyn Height Association, which has preserved the neighborhood's architectural legacy since 1910.

Located in the center of New York City's first historic district, the grand 25-foot-wide residence is a stunning example of nineteenth-century architecture with a rich story. Originally built in the Greek Revival style for New York merchant Samuel Bell, the home was later enhanced in the 1860s with its distinctive fourth-story Mansard roof. By the 1890s, it was home to the Weirs, an iconic Brooklyn Heights family whose floral business was a neighborhood fixture for decades and continues to this day. Following a multi-year gut renovation that used archival imagery to inform the restoration, the 9,525-square-foot home now boasts nine bedrooms, seven baths, and a rooftop terrace. Its exceptional natural light and historic character provide an inspiring setting for this year's full-house transformation. This fall, the nineteen-member design roster will take on the Showhouse's most ambitious assignment yet: re-envisioning this landmarked mansion.

The group brings together a dynamic mix of established names and rising talent, spanning a wide range of design styles and specialties — from classic and antique-layered interiors to modern, architecturally driven spaces, with disciplines represented that include interior design, architecture, landscape design, and furniture making. The designers will restore warmth and personality to the storied location with creative design concepts like: he designers have the unique challenge of working with a blank canvas - restoring warmth and personality to the storied location with creative concepts like: 'Elsewhere,' a lounge-inspired room by Max Aboody that invites retreat with bold, sensual design; a guest bedroom by Emily Eng with a contemporary take on the Neoclassical tented room, loosely inspired by Napoleon's bedroom at Malmaison; 'Blue Period,' a whimsical drawing room by HH Studio that draws references across art history and classical architecture, steeped in the quiet nobility of the color blue; 'SFW Athletic Club,' a rooftop bar and imagined club by Stollar Fearins Welch where old-school East Coast elegance meets sporting nostalgia; and 'QUIETloudQUIET,' an artful primary bedroom by Hallie Goodman that takes inspiration from 90s grunge and indie rock with work by Maayan Zilberman, Rich Aybar, Matthew Brannon, and more.
