Open Doors: Fifty Years of Design in Barcelona

As part of Barcelona Design Week, BD will open its showroom to the public for two days, with a selection of its furniture laid out as a timeline of design in the city. It starts in 1972, the year BD began editing design in Barcelona, and continues through to work released this year.

LOT Roasters will be running a pop-up café in the space both days, selling a special batch roasted in the showroom. There will also be a pop-up shop, selling a curated selection of pieces, including the Apartamento x BD collection of everyday objects.

On Friday the 16th at 18.00, Oscar Tusquets, cofounder of BD, sits down with Nacho Alegre, cofounder of Apartamento and a partner in BD, to talk through this timeline piece by piece. Fifty years of design in Barcelona, discussed in an informal conversation between two artists.

Entry to the showroom is free, from 10.00 to 18.00 on both days. The conversation on Friday at 18.00 is in Spanish and requires advance registration. Capacity is limited.
