Available Items is delighted to present a deeply personal body of work by celebrated interiors photographer Chris Mottalini that examines different aspects of home, family, childhood, memory, culture, and landscape. The series, titled ‘Home Studies’, is the result of an intimate collaboration between Chris and his son, Nino, who constructed and photographed elaborate still lifes depicting their home life in New York and Thailand over the course of four years (2022-2026). Featuring hand painted surfaces, foraged plants and fruits, and family heirlooms, each image is rich with symbolism, storytelling, and high contrast reminiscent of a Dutch Masters still life. A selection of limited edition photographic prints will be presented in ‘Nino + Dad (Home Studies)’ from October 9th through November 15th.

Opened in 2022 by design industry veterans Chad Phillips and Kristin Coleman, the store features a curated mix of vintage and modern furniture, objects, and art as well as an extensive selection of books and magazines about architecture, design, and the decorative arts. The gallery hosts rotating exhibitions of work, often by local artists, that blur the line between fine art and design.
