Spotlight II

Following the success of the Bridge exhibition at its summer residency in Bridgehampton, VERSO returns to New York City and hosts Black Folks in Design - Spotlight II, a new show at its gallery in Tribeca. Spotlight II is the second exhibition from Black Folks in Design, the interdisciplinary Brooklyn- based collective that connects Black designers to each other and to others in an effort to amplify their excellence. Following Spotlight I, the inaugural exhibition from the collective in 2022, this second showcase curated by Little Wing Lee of Studio & Projects is an exercise in range, scale, and perspective, and also a celebration of the talent and creativity of the Black design community. The exhibition features works by Asmite, Robell Awake, Jonas Damon, Jerome Harris, Mabeo Furniture, Nifemi Marcus-Bello, Garth Roberts, Studio & Projects, and Norman Teague. Featured contributions span mediums from floral installations and graphic design to hand-crafted furniture and rhythmic textiles.
