Lorin Silverman: Refraction

Donzella Ltd. is pleased to announce REFRACTIONS, October 16 - November 21, 2025. This will be the first solo exhibition by glass artist Lorin Silverman. The gallery will present sixteen original works bySilverman, nine of which have been newly created specifically for the show at Donzella Project Space in New York City. This includes chandeliers, pendant lighting, sconces, and a floor lamp, all featuring historically intricate Morel shapes and beautifully colored glass bowls embedded with a variety of metallic foils. Lorin Silverman is renowned for creating glass lighting sculptures that strike a balance between precision and imperfection. His works often appear machine-perfect, yet reveal the artist’s hand through subtle textures and organic forms. The new series, including pieces from the ongoing Morel collection, captures fleeting moments of movement, texture, and optical play—seemingly frozen in time. This exhibition, featuring his hand-blown pieces made in his glass-blowing studio at Brooklyn’s famed UrbanGlass, reflects his ability to continually push his craft, exploring new forms and vivid, painterly colors."
