Phoenix Phorms is an exhibition that brings 19th‑century Danish works from 14 furniture into dialogue with Kajsa Willner’s contemporary practice, creating a space where moments from different eras coexist and objects carry traces of past and present. The exhibition examines how forms, materials, and ideas travel through time—how they return, transform, and take on new meanings. Rather than a single image of rebirth, Phoenix Phorms proposes continuous transformation: cycles of change in which destruction and decay make room something new. By presenting history and contemporary practice together, the show invites conversations across ideologies and time, allowing new connections to appear and reappear.

About

Studio Kajsa Willner

Studio Kajsa Willner creates bespoke design with a narrative and a strong focus on materiality. Through artistic research, low–tech craftsmanship, and conceptual thinking, the studio develops objects, sculptures, materials, and spatial installations, often using waste or secondary materials as a starting point. The work centres around the relationship between people, animals, nature, and resources. By researching historical materials, crafts, and production methods from a time when humans lived in closer symbiosis with nature, Willner seeks to explore empathic ways to relate to contemporary consumption and production. https://www.3daysofdesign.dk/exhibition/studio-kajsa-willner
