Embracing a warm, minimalist aesthetic, the hotel draws its name from filo — the thread of Como’s silk tradition — and Lario, the lake’s ancient name. Once an iron wire factory, the site now tells a softer story: one of design, authenticity and enduring connection to place.

Affiliated with Design Hotels and born from the collaboration between the Como-based company Nessi & Majocchi, visionary hotelier Alessandro Sironi and the refined aesthetic of Alessandro Agrati — founder of Culti Milano — the project stands as a heartfelt homage to Lake Como.
Sironi, a hotelier with the lake’s essence woven into his soul, envisioned a sanctuary where modern design flows effortlessly into timeless authenticity, offering an experience both unique and deeply genuine.
“Ever since I was a boy, when tourism on Lake Como was still a very marginal phenomenon, I felt the desire to create a project that would enhance and share the essence of our lake. With Filario, together with a loyal and capable team, we have built year after year a destination within a destination. Even now, at the peak of the region’s tourism development, it stands out thanks to its strong focus on craftsmanship and the originality of its offering.”

With meticulous attention to detail, Filario’s 13 suites and 24 private residences unfold as serene sanctuaries, where vast windows frame the shimmering expanse of Lake Como. Natural elements — warm wood and Lombard stone — echo the landscape’s quiet harmony, while interiors of understated elegance invite tranquil comfort. In 2017, Chef Alessandro Parisi reimagined Ristorante Filo, transforming it into one of Lake Como’s most celebrated culinary havens. His inventive cuisine, deeply rooted in Italian tradition, offers an exclusive dining experience where innovation dances gracefully with reverence for local flavors and heritage.

Over time, Filario has blossomed into a lakeside sanctuary — its beachside dining, expanding residential offering now crowned by an exclusive 250 sqm villa and thoughtful services continuing to enrich its enduring charm.
In 2024, honoring its timeless spirit while embracing renewal, Filario unveiled a redesigned terrace at Ristorante Filo. Created in collaboration with Como’s CMP Design Studio, the space frames breathtaking views of Lake Como, offering guests a seamless harmony of natural beauty and fine cuisine. This elegant refresh marks the first step in a broader evolution of the property — one that stays true to Filario’s signature style while embracing contemporary sensibilities.
