Estudio Material debuts the latest chapter of its ongoing FRAGMENTS series during Milan Design Week, unveiling a sculptural collection rooted in material memory and the northern Italian landscape. Created in collaboration with Sacco Natural Stone in the Chiavenna Valley, FRAGMENTS MILANO repurposes discarded stone fragments from local quarries, honoring their geological history and place of origin.
Each piece in the collection is designed around hand-picked remnants—intact in their raw, as-found condition—and paired with a fog-like plane of pure aluminum that unifies and elevates the stones. The result is a quiet mosaic of textures, tones, and surfaces that speaks to the beauty of imperfection and the tension between the natural and the human-made.
Held at the iconic Villa Borsani as part of Alcova, this exhibition reflects Estudio Material’s commitment to sustainable practices, material storytelling, and the poetic potential of overlooked resources.
