dopo la fine

The current exhibition at Galleria Ramo, "dopo la fine" (’After the End’), is an introspective journey through the shadows of time and walls of memory. Inspired by the profound insights contained in Giovanni Lindo Ferretti's book Óra (‘Now’), the artists capture the essence of universal principles and the intricate nuances of the human condition. Drawing from a rich tapestry of literature, philosophy, religion, and anthropology, Montinaro and De Bernardo delve into the relationships between life and death, between remembrance and forgetting, weaving a narrative that transcends the hour to imagine hypothetical elsewhere.

Montinaro's works guide us toward a spiritual journey that seems to have its beginning and its end in nothingness, in blackness, and in ash. All the elements that make up his works seem to stem from absences that are found to shed light and pay homage to other absences, from dust to dust. In parallel, De Bernardo's installations act as poignant predictions of an ever-nearing time, and through immersive works, viewers are confronted with an inevitable and unassailable truth, which finds solace only in its finiteness. Dopo la fine is positioned as the beginning of a journey that outlasts its destination, a slow and relentless march without time and without place into the depths of the unknown.
