NEW STUDIO SUPER SHOW

NEW STUDIO SUPER SHOW presents 50 new chairs by Teun Zwets, each conceived as the starting point for a possible new collection.

Working intuitively from his Eindhoven studio, Zwets uses each chair to test a different material, construction, form or technique. Rather than resolving ideas before making, the project treats production itself as a form of research, allowing unexpected directions to emerge through the process.

Upstairs, the showroom expands into a series of immersive environments combining new work, existing collections, art and installations. Highlights include new pieces from the Splitted collection, a collaboration with artist Merijn Kavelaars, and a room constructed entirely from cardboard.

Dutch Design Week

In October of each year, Dutch Design Week (DDW) takes place in Eindhoven. The biggest design event in Northern Europe presents work and ideas of more than 2600 designers to more than 350,000 visitors from home and abroad. In more than 110 locations across the city, DDW organizes and facilitates exhibitions, lectures, prize ceremonies, networking events, debates and festivities. Although during the event every imaginable discipline and aspect of design is on offer, the emphasis is on experiment, innovation and cross-overs.
