The historic hospitality project is located on the grounds of a former military hospital site, and includes a hotel, spa, retail shop, and a restaurant and bar helmed by star Belgian Chef Nick Bri, whose neighboring Michelin-Star restaurant The Jane is just steps away. The elegant sage green staff uniforms were created by another famed Belgian designer, Christian Wijnats.

Stark without feeling cold, the carefully curated interior design is perfectly simple– a nod to the former convent’s aesthetic and mission. The colors are an ode to the natural world beyond the red brick walls, and include sumptuous tones of moss green, dark wood, and light creams.

“August is a place where you feel calm and at home without neglecting the fact that you are in a place that was sacred. We have fully considered the past as being a beautiful gift to keep and reinterpret what we have in a modern way. August strokes all the senses with the richness of its textures and objects that are in delicate harmon with its sacred soul.” – Vincent Van Duysen
