Pastel

Salon 94 Design presents Pastel, a new exhibition by celebrated artist Cj Hendry, on view in New York from August 6–16, 2026.

At the center of the exhibition is an immersive installation featuring a vast pit filled with pastel-colored beads drawn from Hendry’s playful visual world. Familiar characters, including Juju and Balloon Dog, appear alongside the artist’s signature flowers and smiley faces. Visitors are invited to select beads and create their own bracelet, necklace, or charm, continuing Hendry’s longstanding interest in participatory experiences and direct audience engagement.

The exhibition will also include drawings and editions featuring Hendry’s iconic imagery, alongside a selection of artist merchandise, including caps, T-shirts, jewelry trunks, leather trays, and acrylic keyrings.

Over the past decade, Hendry has developed a highly independent international practice through large-scale installations, experiential projects, and direct-to-public releases. Her work has reached audiences far beyond the traditional art world, including many visitors with little previous experience of museums or commercial galleries.
